Fish Report for 7-2-2024

Long Range Paradise

Picture perfect long range fishing. All day on the anchor in one of the most iconic destinations whittling away at beautiful, 40-60 pound class yellowfin tuna and 22-40 pound yellowtail. Never  hot and heavy the ideal pace was to our anglers advantage as they practiced the art of flyline sardine fishing and were regularly rewarded when doing so effectively. In every respect the day was special complimented by near perfect fishing conditions and weather. Blessed and sated we set up an evening/nighttime yellowtail honey hole for those with the wind remaining to give it a go. And yet again those that did were richly rewarded.

Taking all into account we couldn’t find a reason to make a move. The old rule of “never leave fish to find them” applied. Looking forward to the day of flat calm in the forecast tomorrow we’ll see what the fish gods produce.

Photo today features a huge bonus moment for first time Royal Star angler Dave Kleinsmith when he wrangled his first ever wahoo. Congratulations on a fine catch that is certain to please at the dinner table long after this voyage returns!
