Tuna Fever
10-3-2023
Alex Natipadab
Target species of the day: Yellowfin tuna. We woke up this morning to a beautiful orange sky sunrise much further down the Baja coast. Weather is a bit sloppy to start the day, but quite pleasant once the anchor gear was put out. Slow shaky start made us wonder if we were a day late and a bunch of tuna short. With patience and determination, anglers kept at it. Mid morning the ocean woke up. Went from hooking 1 every ten mins to 5-10 fish hooked at once. Fast pace explosive 6 hours of fury. Cranked til we couldn't crank anymore, we called it a day. With no desire to tag anymore, we will keep turning the page to a new destination tomorrow. We will be on the inshore Baja coast gaining altitude all the time in hopes for some exotics to add variety to our already spectacular catch.
