As in "you should've been here yesterday". Rolling the dice on a huge amount of fish seen yesterday and last night we felt confident that today was going to produce some fine opportunity offshore. By about 10:00 a.m. we weren't feeling that way anymore. Not a scale was seen. Zero. Where the heck they went is anyone's guess. Harboring zero doubt about the direction things were headed we called an audible and beelined it for the bank in a pure salvage operation. Fortunately we made something of it posting up on the anchor all afternoon scratching away at school size bluefin. Not the barn burner we aimed for when the day began it was far better than the alternative. Taking the hint mindful of the weather fast coming on we committed to a night fast to the bottom after a fruitless after dark tour. Photo today features one of the fortunate few, Royal Star angler Jim Morris, from the early am with a fine grade, sinker rig enticed bluefin.
