Another splendid day that carried over from the prior. Both beautiful grade yellowtail and yellowfin tuna combined to ultimately wear this stellar group of anglers down. Lounging, laughing, and savoring the spectacular weather, scenery, and fishing by mid afternoon all had their quality and quantity goals satisfied.
Accomplishing everything possible from the conditions at hand we bid farewell to the legendary far away rocks headed north in a stunning far offshore calm. Freighting a beautiful catch of primo yellowfin, yellowtail, and wahoo in the RSW tanks we now switch into coastal variety, exotics, and quality mode. Continuing beautiful conditions beckon from the coast where we will work our way north spot fishing with an overnight anchorage somewhere along the way. As Captain Brian Sims said yesterday “there’s no better time to swing for the fence”.
In full agreement we’ll see if our blessed fishing fortune continues.
Speaking of photos first today features long time Royal Star and “Spider” legend Brent Hirsch who picked off the solo wahoo of the day on a final lap before we headed north. The second photo features another Royal Star/Long range friend and uber veteran Rick Stone with a fine example of the beautiful grade yellowfin readily available while we sat at anchor the entire day.
