Nice surprise

A welcome surprise as the first wahoo of the 2024 Summer season delighted a few lucky anglers. Superb table fare and arguably the most thrilling pelagic scombroid that we target the few today lived up to their legendary billing. In addition, though joined by some hungry sharks, yellowfin tuna in the 35-60 pound class provided plenty of action, visual excitement, and hardcore pulling. In fine conditions it was a great day. Good times among friends old and new segued into a productive night on fine grade yellowtail to top it off. Well into the early morning hours those who hung a “chandelier” of sardines down deep were rewarded with yellows in the 20-40 pound class. Finding no reason to abandon our current station we’ll see what tomorrow brings. Todays image features the man himself long time Royal Star celebrity Russ “Ungbelievable” Ung with the first wahoo of the voyage landed on the old school Marauder.
