Chapter 3: YFT mayhem
10-10-2023

A couple hundred more miles south we traveled throughout the night. Yellowfin Tuna is the intended target species today. After arriving at our destination shortly after breakfast, it didn't take us long to locate a school to work with. Slid in a big breezer of fish that erupted in the chum line resulting in a 8 hour long YFT mayhem, almost every bait was a bite, limit style fishing on premium grade (20-45lbs) was had today. The guys were definitely cooking with gas, keeping their foot on the gas. The phrase " Make hay while the sun shines" comes to mind here, we really took advantage of a favorable circumstance. "What do we do go catch next!" was thrown around a lot over dinner service. What a good problem to have! Tomorrow, Chapter 4 of the adventure will be based on trying to add variety to the phenomenal catch.
Today's cover photo honors goes to father and son duo, David and Mick McPhail posing with one of their many beautiful grade tuna from today.
Please enjoy a few more pictures to capture the days action.
