Blue Planet

9-7-2023

After a night at anchor that can only be described as heavenly we sallied forth refreshed and ready for a final day on the hunt. Premium grade yellows in our sights we passed up plenty of smaller fish, again, holding out for a shot a good ones. Meanwhile the day was passed thoroughly enjoying a “Blue Planet” showing of bait, birds, mammals, and yellowtail spectacular in scope and fascinating in action. Miles of such activity reminded all again of just how special this stretch of the coast is and why it is among the most productive in the world. And, why it is a recreational angler’s paradise. Freighting plenty of yellows from day one, and a huge catch of beautiful grade tuna, quantity was not today’s priority. Taking in the sights and sounds with plenty of catching included the day came to a close anchored adjacent a stunning island cathedral. A couple of 35 - 40 pound yellows were a fitting conclusion to a great day on the water among friends. Photo today captured yet another variety moment when this nice dorado joined the fray in a stop on yellowtail. Honors go to long time fishing and Royal Star legend Wayne Passafiume.
