Last act

Following our banner night/early morning we spent a few hours working to convince at least one or two more bluefin to break ranks with their thousands of brethren and eat a fly lined sardine. It didn’t work. A few crashed around once or twice elevating our heart rates but none chanced engaging in daytime battle.

Freighting abundance and epic quality we struck out on an afternoon fishing mission hoping to serve the greater good by discovering something new. What we found was more bluefin. And, aside from one small spot of mini’s, they didn’t bite too.

Where the bite was slow the festivities began. A few early afternoon rounds led to some lively revelry and extremely humorous dialogue. A good time was had by all as afternoon melted into evening and a final, signature sundown. Suffused with breathtaking brilliant, then soft, fading pastels the last act was absorbed with appreciation proper. Pleased with the result in every respect we graciously thank all anglers participating in this annual Izorline sponsored July three day run.

Final voyage image features Royal Star veteran angler Gary Vincent and his dandy yellowtail fly lined up on day one at banco “Cortez”.
