Plans to sit and fish quickly went by the wayside when our chosen zone of the morning went stone cold. Damn. A magnetic western pull found us on scene by late afternoon mixing it up with the big hitters whom had compiled an impressive list of swings and misses throughout the day with the occasional one or two fish score. #*"! Bluefin - a refrain all too common this season in particular. As fat, beautiful, and delicious as they are they have a unique ability to challenge and frustrate like no other fish we pursue. Which of course is why we continue to apply extraordinary zeal to the cause. The reward, albeit relatively rare, is well worth the toil. And toil we did well into the night and dawn for a couple of handfuls of little "butterballs". The bigger models appear to have flown the coop again setting one and all on yet another seek and destroy mission. And rest assured they will be found. Photo today is an image of the ultimate reward mentioned above. Shared among friends and family there is no better table fare in the world. Fresh, RSW held, Royal Star caught, Pacific Bluefin Tuna. Food of the gods!
